About Ava

Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Grief, OCD, Relationship difficulties

Hi, I’m Ava! I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor based in Southern California working under a a licensed supervisor. I hold an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University where I gained experience working with teens, adults, and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, and OCD.

My approach is rooted in the belief that clients are the expert on their lives, I am here to walk alongside them in their journey to growth and healing. In my practice, I focus on creating a safe space for clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable and empowered to grow. I utilize evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to work with thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teach practical skills you can use to strengthen your ability to cope with life’s challenges.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. I strive to tailor treatment to each client’s unique identities, experiences, and needs so our work together feels collaborative, affirming, and impactful.

Sometimes clients come in knowing exactly what they want to work on, and other times they just know something doesn’t feel quite right. Wherever you’re starting from, therapy can offer a supportive space to explore, understand, and move toward meaningful change.
