How we work together
Mindfulness & Somatic Work
Mindfulness is about learning to notice your thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences without immediately judging them or reacting to them. This can create a little more space between what you’re experiencing and what you do next. Rather than asking you to empty your mind or “just be present”, we’ll practice developing a more curious and compassionate relationship with whatever shows up.
Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR is a structured approach that can help you process distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to affect how you feel, think, or respond in the present. Rather than requiring you to repeatedly retell or relive every detail of what happened, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements—to support the brain’s natural processing of difficult experiences. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable and prioritize safety and stability throughout the process.
Exposure and Response prevention
ERP is an evidence-based approach commonly used to treat OCD and anxiety. Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable thoughts or feelings, we’ll gradually practice responding to them differently, without relying on compulsions, avoidance, or reassurance to feel certain or safe. The goal isn’t to make anxiety disappear; it’s to help you build the confidence to experience uncertainty without letting it dictate your life.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
CBT looks at the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rather than assuming that difficult thoughts are simply “wrong” or need to be replaced with positive ones, we’ll explore how your thoughts are influencing the way you experience a situation, and whether those patterns are actually helping you. Together, we can practice creating more flexibility in how you interpret and respond to what’s happening.
Dialectical Behavior therapy
DBT focuses on building the skills to navigate difficult emotions, relationships, and moments where everything feels like too much. We’ll work on things like emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and communication in ways that feel practical and relevant to your everyday life. DBT is not about telling you to simply “manage” your emotions, it’s about learning how to move through them without feeling controlled by them.
Sessions & Fees
Individual sessions are 45 minutes long. We will begin weekly, as this is the best way to build a solid foundation and can discuss decreasing the frequency based on need. Individual sessions are at a set fee of $175 and I offer in-person and virtual appointments in Redondo Beach and the surrounding South Bay area.
Sliding Scale
I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available to make services more accessible based on need.
Insurance
I am an out-of-network provider but I do offer Superbills for clients to submit to their insurance companies for possible reimbursement. If you’d like to use insurance, I recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your OON benefits for therapy services.
Questions to ask insurance companies
Does my insurance plan include mental health insurance benefits?
What is my annual deductible, what is its start date, and has it been met yet?
How many sessions does my health insurance cover per year?
Not sure if we’re a good fit?
That’s okay. You don’t need to know before reaching out.
